Essence of the Disarm

The Essence of the Disarm is based on two principals.
1st - the weapon can only leave the hand through the Thumb, Index Finger or Pinkie.
2nd - there are only 5 places to put the left hand for capturing.

It is important to understand that without moving the footwork and applying body mechanics, your assailant will strike right through your weapon. The footwork and body mechanics have been left out for the sake of understanding the disarms in the pics.
