A Kiss from Inspiration
Jason Heriford

Kiss these tired eyes of mine, Inspiration.
I wake slowly from dulled imagination.
My recent past a continuum of abuse
Squandering life apathetic to my muse.
The doldrums loose their grip, and I arise
Slowly you romance the light of lights in my eyes.
You are sunrise and steady healing motivation
This warm beginning reaches hot intoxication.
You impassion my days, my Inspiration.
Again my dreams feel real emancipation.
Unrestrained you steer me to the truth.
Flowing from the Dream-soul you soothe.
Carry me away, and work your magic.
I won’t look back at what was tragic.
Tomorrow is no higher or lower than today.
So sweetly here with you I forever play.
